The Brilliant Energy Institute (BEI) operates within Ontario Tech University’s Office of the Vice President, Research and Innovation. BEI builds upon the university's energy research and expertise to meaningfully contribute to Canada’s growing energy demand, and to strengthen outcomes regionally, provincially and nationally. Our work supports decarbonization, sustainability and equitable access to cleaner, safe, abundant energy necessary for prosperity, quality of life, and climate resilience in communities across Canada and worldwide.

We work across sectors, regions, and disciplines to reduce emissions, spark innovation, and ensure that the benefits of clean, safe, reliable energy are accessible to all. Through research, partnerships, community engagement, and capacity building, we help shape the systems and skills needed for a thriving, sustainable Canada.
