BEI x CNIC Webinar
How Durham Region is Supporting International Isotope Innovation
Date: July 28, 2026
Time: 10:00am – 11:00am EST
Location: Ontario Tech Webinar Platform
Home to one of the world’s leading nuclear ecosystems, the Durham Region has emerged as a key Canadian hub for isotope innovation and development. With isotope producers like Ontario Power Generation and Laurentis Energy Partners, leading training institutions including Ontario Tech University and its Brilliant Energy Institute (BEI), and other world-class supply chain organizations, the Durham Region is a unique regional strength in the Canadian isotope landscape.
Through cross-sector discussion, this event hosted by the BEI, will highlight how regional collaboration between Durham organizations can help accelerate innovation, strengthen Canada’s isotope ecosystem, and position the country at the forefront of global advancements in nuclear science, health, and clean energy technologies.
Building on this emergence as an innovation hub, the BEI and the Canadian Nuclear Isotope Council (CNIC) have recently partnered to advance dialogue on opportunities for Canadian regions to support global leadership in nuclear isotope innovation. As a designated International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Collaborating Centre, Ontario Tech University plays an important role in supporting international nuclear education, research, and capacity building, while the CNIC continues to strengthen Canada’s global impact through its collaboration with the IAEA’s Rays of Hope initiative focused on expanding access to life-saving cancer care and isotope technologies worldwide.
Join us on July 28th at 10:00am to hear from our expert panelists as they discuss how regional and international collaboration is shaping the future of isotope innovation.
